Michael was privileged to grow up in a christian home where his parents took him to First Apostolic Church in Knoxville, TN, where he was blessed to call Bishop Billy McCool & Pastor Mark McCool his pastors. Michael’s parents also made a tremendous sacrifice to send him to Apostolic Christian School in Knoxville, TN. It was there at chapel services that he was baptized in the name of Jesus & filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost. Upon graduation from high school in 1995, Michael started college and after the fall semester of 1998 decided to take a semester off that turned into a twelve year lay off. In the fall of 2010, he re-enrolled in college & finished his Associates of Arts degree through online courses & graduated with honors from Black River Technical College in Pocahontas, AR.
Michael answered the call to ministry in the fall of 1996 and after working with the youth, teaching Sunday school, & working at Apostolic Christian School & First Apostolic Church in Knoxville, TN, he launched out by faith into full-time ministry as an evangelist in the spring of 2003. Later that year he accepted a position as youth pastor & sports director at Bethlehem Church & Christian School in Potts Camp, MS. While there he was blessed to work with Bishop Steve Wilson & Pastor Jon Vazquez for two years & served as the Mississippi District Apostolic Crusaders Youth President before leaving to evangelize again in the fall of 2005. One year later, Pastor Robert Martin asked him to move to Baton Rouge, LA, to work as youth pastor & while there worked with the Louisiana District AC Youth. In the fall of 2007, he once again embarked on the evangelistic field & has been working as a full-time evangelist with the ALJC Evangelist Department for over 6 years now. Michael has also served the Apostolic Crusaders national as SINGLESOURCE Director & currently is serving as the Apostolic Youth Corps Director!
Michael is blessed to be married to a wonderful woman, Tara, & they have the three greatest kids in the world, Shelby, Grayson, & Braxton. They currently live in Pocahontas, AR, where Tara’s father, Pastor Jerry Cochran, & her grandfather, Bishop Bill Gray, pastor. Tara is currently a full-time student working towards a bachelors degree, while taking care of their three children & running a home-based dainty fashions business. Because Tara was raised in church & in a pastor’s home, she was always been involved in ministry. Tara has one of the most beautiful & anointed singing voices you will ever hear. Tara, along with their three children are involved in singing, sign language, and working the altars to help bring more souls to Jesus!
The Maupins have ministered in over 150 churches in 25 states & four different countries. They have been honored to be regular ministers at revivals, rallies, campmeetings, youth camps, & conferences. They have been priviledged to see hundreds repent of their sins, be baptized in Jesus’ name, & receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. They have also witnessed hundreds of others that have been set free from the chains of sin, miraculously healed, & backsliders pray back through. They are excited to be a part of what God is doing in this generation!
